Vince Young Is Clairvoyant, Out With Torn MCL

The Titans pulled off a big win in their first game yesterday, beating Jacksonville, one of the elite team’s in the AFC (or so we thought). However, it wasn’t such a great day for Vince Young, who threw for just 110 yards on 12-22 passing and two picks. You could say the Titans won despite his performance ... and thanks to the play of rookie RB Chris Johnson. ↵↵But that wasn’t the worst of it for Young. In the fourth quarter, after throwing his second interception and subsequently being booed off the field, Young decided he didn’t wanna play any more:↵

↵↵⇥When the defense forced a punt three plays [after Young threw the interception] and the offense returned to the field, Young was AWOL.↵⇥↵⇥That’s when things grew frantic. It’s hard to run a play without a quarterback.↵⇥

↵⇥↵⇥“I came on the field and 10 wasn’t in the huddle,” said center Kevin Mawae. “I didn’t know what the situation was.”↵⇥

↵⇥↵⇥Fisher then made a beeline to Young, standing several yards away. [...] From the outside looking in, Fisher seemed to all but throw Young back onto the field.↵⇥

↵↵Here’s where the clairvoyance comes in: Young was injured just four plays later. And the injury, it seems, is somewhat serious. He has a partially torn MCL and is expected to miss at least two-to-four weeks.↵
