Mo Peterson: Mateen Cleaves > Chris Paul

It really pains me to goof on Mateen Cleaves. Not because his career has been less than eventful, but because he really seems to care about his team winning -- even though he never plays, and will change squads in under a month. ↵↵Thankfully, the following really, really stupid quote is about Cleaves, not from his mouth. It’s Morris Peterson talking about his erstwhile Michigan State teammate, from MLive.com:↵
↵↵⇥Back to Mateen, I know he’s great and Chris Paul is great. Who is the best point guard that you’ve ever played with?↵⇥

↵⇥I got to say Mo Cleaves. I think when we played together and what he brought to the table, he brought that toughness and I see a lot of that in Chris Paul. [Paul] fell out of the sky and into this team and it’s unbelievable watching him play and watching him grow. I think he’s going to be a Hall of Famer one day.↵↵To Mo Pete’s credit, I don’t see why he concludes that Cleaves is number one. He’s seen Chris Paul take the NBA by storm, first-hand, on a nightly basis. But still sides with Cleaves. Maybe he’s trying to throw his old pal a bone, and just has little substance to back it up with. If that’s the case, though, we end up right back where I didn’t want to be: Pointing at the eternally exuberant Cleaves and giggling.↵
