Romo Needs to Worry About Perception

↵
↵The piling on continues with the Cowboys. Earlier in the week, it was sources revealing the root of some the team’s problems this season. Now, Troy Aikman has decided to take his shots by digging deeeep into the well and pulling out something that Tony Romo did over a year ago:↵↵⇥“And you don’t go to Cabo the week before a playoff game. You just don’t do it.” ... “But to say, ‘I don’t worry about perception,’ you better worry about perception, because it’s a big part of making it through some very difficult times.”↵↵That’s right, the way others perceive you will help get you out of tough times. This is a perfect example. Tony Romo goes to Cabo during his bye week. Perception: He enjoys partying with dumb blondes more than sitting around, doing nothing. Not good. And also not the only thing Troy Aikman thinks Romo shouldn’t have done. Here are a few other examples of things from Tony’s past that, like Romo’s trip to Cabo, really had nothing whatsoever to do with anything, but Aikman surely thinks have hurt the public’s perceptions of Romo: ↵
↵Shouldn’t have worn that douchehat for his MNF photoshoot. It covers his face, making him look shadowy and mysterious. Also makes him look completely ridiculous. Perception: Tony Romo has something to hide. ↵
↵↵Shouldn’t have been born in 1980. This was the year of the monkey, an animal known for being impatient with a willingness to give up on difficult projects too easily. Also known to cannibalize. Perception: Tony Romo quit on his team; often contemplates which marinade would best tenderize Jason Witten’s tough skin. ↵
↵↵Shouldn’t be half Mexican-American. Mexico doesn’t know anything about playing quarterback in the National Football League. This heritage can be nothing but detrimental to his ability as Dallas’ leader. Perception: Tony Romo should’ve been a soccer player. ↵
↵↵Shouldn’t have attended Eastern Illinois. Directional universities never produce winners. Perception: Tony Romo doesn’t care about winning. ↵
↵↵Shouldn’t slide so much. He needs to take more massive concussions. It makes a quarterback look tough; like he’d do anything for his team, no matter the side effects. I had a dozen of them. Helps gain respect. Grow chest hair. All the things you look for in a … Perception: I’m sorry, what were we talking about again?↵
