Life Has an East Coast Bias

Jon Bois of Mouthpiece Sports has a fantastic assessment of the sporting geography of America, using 2008 results from the NFL, MLB and the NBA to show which sections of the country boast the best or worst overall sporting landscapes. ↵Bois notes the Midwest, excepting Chicago and Indianapolis, has been awful the past year: Detroit, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Minneapolis, Milwaukee and St. Louis all sit under .500, and Kansas City has the been the worst metropolis in the nation with a .294 winning clip. At the expense of the Breadbasket of America, the East Coast has soared: only one (Miami) of the nine cities has a losing record.
