Turns out that Okafor’s “sprained knee” is actually a sprained toe. The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports:
Okafor to Miss First Three Preseason Games
Addition examination of New Orleans Hornets’ center Emeka Okafor revealed a sprained toe on his right foot, the team said Thursday morning, while forward Ike Diogu has a strained left knee.
Both players will be limited for the next two weeks, and it’s doubtful either will play in next week’s preseason games at Atlanta on Wednesday, against the Charlotte Bobcats in Greensboro, N.C. on Thursday and the home preseason opener at New Orleans Arena on Oct. 10 against Oklahoma City.
Team officials did not initially reveal which toe on Okafor’s foot is affected, but did say it was not the big toe.
