LSU Making Use of the Yard Markers

D.J. Gallo, the sports blogosphere’s resident jester, chimed in with this gem at the opening of tonight’s game:

↵↵I question the academics at any school that has 5-yard markings.

↵↵And sure enough, the yard markings were put to good use on Florida’s opening drive, as LSU’s defense shot themselves in the foot with an offsides penalty. And then did it again. And again. The Tigers were called for offsides three separate times, as the Gators drove an impressive 77 yards before settling for a field goal.

↵

TEBOW WATCH: He looks tentative so far, and was hit hard multiple times on the Gators’ opening possession. So far, Florida’s yet to call any designed run plays for him, and has been content to rely on running backs Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey on offense. That is all.
