NFL Week 5 Fantasy Injury Report

Cincinnati @ Baltimore

(CIN) Cedric Benson is probable and should be able to go with no problem, but the Baltimore run defense is a big problem.

(BAL) Ed Reed and Derrick Mason are both probable. Mason has been playing well and should be good to go.

Cleveland @ Buffalo

(CLE) Phil Dawson is doubtful. Jamal Lewis is questionable which should give Jerome Harrison a good chunk of carries once again.

(BUF) Safeties Bryan Scott and Donte Whitner are out and cornerback Ellis Lankster is questionable so feel good about starting Mohamed Massaquoi.

Washington @ Carolina

(WAS) Defensive tackle Anthony Montgomery is doubtful and defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin is out.

(CAR) Jonathan Stewart was a full participant in practice but is still listed as questionable. He should get around 10 carries.

Pittsburgh @ Detroit

(PIT) Willie Parker is out with turf toe which gives Rashard Mendenhall the start, and a good one at that. Troy Polamalu is doubtful and will not go. Upgrade Calvin Johnson.

(DET) Kevin Smith and Calvin Johnson are both probable and should have no trouble going, but Smith will have more trouble against the Pittsburgh run defense than Johnson will have against their pass defense. Matthew Stafford is questionable and there is a very good chance he won’t play.

Dallas @ Kansas City

(DAL) Felix Jones is doubtful and won’t play. Roy Williams is also doubtful and also probably won’t play. Upgrade Miles Austin and start him against a weak Chiefs’ defense. Marion Barber is probable and practiced fully. He is a good start.

(KAN) The Chiefs have no fantasy relevant injuries.

Oakland @ New York Giants

(OAK) Darren McFadden is out, but his backups Michael Bush and Justin Fargas aren’t good fantasy plays against the giants. Zach Miller is questionable, but should go.

(NYG) Eli Manning is questionable and is a game time decision. Downgrade the Giants wide receivers if David Carr starts. Ahmad Bradshaw is probable and was limited in practice.

Tampa Bay @ Philadelphia

(TAM) Antonio Bryant is questionable and not a good fantasy start against the Eagles. Derrick Ward is probable, but backing up Cadillac Williams.

(PHI) Kevin Curtis is questionable and not a good start. Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook are both probable and worth starts against a bad Tampa defense.

Minnesota @ St. Louis

(MIN) There are no fantasy relevant injuries.

(STL) Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton are questionable. Marc Bulger is also questionable and Kyle Boller will probably get the start. Nobody on the Rams is worth a start except Steven Jackson.

Atlanta @ San Francisco

(ATL) No fantasy relevant injuries.

(SF) Frank Gore is out and Glen Coffee will get the start. Atlanta’s run defense isn’t great so start Coffee with confidence.

Houston @ Arizona

(HOU) Ryan Moats is probable, but with Chris Brown healthy he won’t get much work. Mario Williams is questionable.

(ARZ) Steve Breaston is questionable, but should go. Defensive tackle Darnell Dockett is questionable. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is questionable.

New England @ Denver

(ARZ) Fred Taylor is out. Jerod Mayo is questionable. Wes Welker is questionable and once again a game time decision.

(DEN) Correll Buckhalter is out which will give Knowshon Moreno the start and the bulk of the carries.

Jacksonville @ Seattle

(JAC) No fantasy relevant injuries.

(SEA) Linebacker Lofa Tatupa should play. Tackles Sean Locklear and Walter Jones are out which will hurt Matt Hasselbeck who is probable and should be able to go barring any setbacks.

Indianapolis @ Tennessee

(IND) Bob Sanders was limited in practice and is doubtful to go Sunday night. Joseph Addai is questionable and should go, but the injury to his hand may give the coaches an excuse to give Donald Brown more work than usual.

(TEN) Nate Washington is probable with a concussion. Cortland Finnegan is questionable, but even if he wasn’t Manning and company should be able to pass at will on the Titans.
