Yes, That Is Carl Pavano, and Yes, He Is Pitching Against the Yankees Tonight

This is where the odyssey of Carl Pavano has left us, and him: With a chance to redeem himself — or screw over his old franchise a final time, depending on your perspective — against his former team, the Yankees, in the third game of an ALDS that might already be over.

It’s hard to imagine the Twins coming back from the sort of psychic disappointment levied by their 9th-inning collapse against the Yankees on Friday night, especially when you consider how the Yankees cruised in Game One. There is a serious talent gap between these two teams, particularly on the offensive end. Mr. Pavano might be lucky to get out of the Metrodome alive.

Anyway, that’s a mere glossy portrait; be sure to head to Pinstripe Alley for all your Yankees needs and Twinkie Town if you want to talk Twins. They’ll have all the nitty-gritty you need. And be sure to check out SB Nation’s full preview here.
