Cincinnati’s Triumph for Mike Zimmer

On the heels of yesterday’s victories, the Bengals and Broncos are officially the feel-good stories of this young NFL season. But more than just a win, yesterday, the Bengals triumphed for one of their coaches, defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, a man who just three days earlier had discovered his wife of 27 years dead at 50 years old, of sudden and unknown causes.

↵Yahoo’s Chris Chase tells the story, and it’s definitely worth a look, as it shows that beyond the exhilarating victory and the resilience they displayed in Baltimore yesterday, the Bengals had much deeper motivations. And they fought hard for a man that’s dealing with impossible hurt in his own life. Now that is a feel-good story.
