Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to reporters in the wake of his injury, and said he expects to be back as soon as possible. From Sky Sports:

“I will work very hard to try to shorten the length of time I’m out, even though now what’s important is to recuperate perfectly so as not to return to having problems,” he told AS.
“It’s a different injury to that which I was operated on. It’s got nothing to do with that.
“I’m calm because I know that with the desire I have to get better and the good work of the physiotherapists at Madrid everything will go very well.”
On the other hand, his teammate, Spanish star Raul Abiol, hopes that Ronaldo takes him time in recovery. As Goal.com reports:
“The injury to Cristiano is not good news,” he was reported as saying by AS. “He picked up the knock and could not finish the game.
“It is a blow and I think that he has to be left to recover completely and not be forced back.
“I think that the best thing is that he comes back strongly and with his ankle totally better.”
Meanwhile, the whole Black Magic angle to this story was made for the British tabloids, who say that none other than Paris Hilton paid 15,000 Euros to an “occult practitioner” named Pepe to place a curse of the Portugese superstar. So, there’s that, too.
