For most of the NFL public, the name Miles Austin hardly registered a second glance until his explosion on Sunday (10 rec., 250 yards, 2 TDs). So the question is – is Miles Austin worth a spot on your fantasy roster? As a Cowboys fan and blogger, and someone who has followed Austin since his arrival in training camp in 2006, let me give it to you straight. While matching his numbers from Sunday is highly unlikely, ever, there’s no reason he can’t produce regularly. Austin has always had speed and size, but his ability to stay healthy has held him back. The Cowboys have been waiting for a performance like this from Austin, and as a team would be better served having him start opposite Roy Williams while moving current starter Patrick Crayton back to the slot receiver, where he’s been very successful. The Cowboys have been looking for a big-play WR since dumping T.O., and Austin might be the guy. We’ll have to wait a couple of weeks to see what happens, the Cowboys are on a bye this week. But if you desperately need WR help on your roster, Austin is worth taking a chance on.
