Previous to that, the only other time the same two teams played each other back-to-back…’77 and ’78 when the Dodgers and Phillies squared off, LA coming out on top both times.
And because you’re wondering, you only have to go back to 2003-2004 for the last time the ALCS was a repeat affair. It was the Red Sox and Yankees, shocker of shockers.
