This is Going to Be a Fun Week for Trent Edwards

↵↵The Jets’ usually stifling defense is souring after surrendering 31 points to the Dolphins on Monday night, so if they want to take it out on somebody, they have a target ripe for all-out blitzes in Trent Edwards.↵

↵↵That’s because Edwards will be protected by the youngest offensive line the NFL has seen this decade, one that will likely be starting three rookies - right tackle Jamon Meredith along with guards Eric Wood and Andy Levitre - on Sunday against Rex Ryan’s attack-first defense. Now there’s talk of scraping the no-huddle attack the team worked so hard to make a staple of their offense again this season. But whereas it was supposed to keep opposing defenses tired and on their toes, it’s only led to confusion among the Bills’ young line, which committed a staggering nine false start penalties last week against the Browns.↵

↵↵But hey, now that they’ve tracked down that wooden Thurman Thomas sculpture, they can stick in front of Edwards. It has to be tough to push over. And no way it’ll jump before the snap.↵
