As previously reported on here, Clinton Portis wasn’t expected to play in the second half for the Redskins this afternoon. CBS reports (when keeping it real-time goes wrong):
Portis Injury Creates an Opportunity for Clinton Portis to Shine
↵↵Redskins running back Clinton Portis was on Washington’s sideline in the second half of Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a nagging ankle injury. […]
↵Ladell Betts took over as Washington’s primary running back.
↵↵Uh… Not so fast. For the first time in weeks, the Redskins are showing signs of life, with Clinton Portis leading the way? Because this is the 2009 Redskins, any success is surreal and subject to skepticism, but for now, this is what we know: Portis is not hurt, and in fact, he just broke off a career-long 78-yard run to set up a ’Skins FG.
↵(Though consistent with surreal levels of failure, CBS’ feed for the ’Skins game just went out. Clearly, a Jim Zorn success caused the production truck to explode.)
