Well, this was a hit so brutal and out-of-line that we mentioned it twice in commentary yesterday, including an allusion to a Quentin Tarantino film. Safe to say, Dante Wesley earned this suspension.

And indeed, the NFL announced today that it would be suspending Wesley one game for his hit on Clifton Smith, a play that earned him an ejection yesterday, as well. One more time, the cheap shot to end all cheap shots:

↵Ugh. That’s a situation where I think the Buccaneers should be able to choose: either accept the suspension and force him to forfeit a 5-digit game check, or let him play, but invite him to Tampa Bay practice, and make him return a punt against the entire team.
