CBS Finds New Steve McNair-Sahel Kazemi Info, Calls Key Facts Into Question

↵If you don’t want to/can’t watch the video where you are today, here’s the important stuff.↵↵-- Armen Keteyian found inconsistencies in the timeline the police created. Police say she bought a pistol at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, making her absent from work until about 7 p.m. that day. CBS obtained her work records, which show that two-hour absence actually took place the day before on July 1. That seems like a pretty basic fact and a relatively glaring oversight by the police. While I’ll grant it appears a mistake has been made, Keteyian and CBS really make a leap to say “it calls into question whether she ever bought the gun.”↵

↵↵-- CBS also obtained her bank records, which show she had $2,536.37, seemingly contradicting the part of this narrative that money problems could’ve also fueled a murder-suicide.↵

↵

↵-- Another moment that feels a little bit like a reach in the whole thing comes when Keteyian notes never-before-seen security footage from the police station where Sahel Kazemi does not appear to be distressed and angry as she was often portrayed. Talking to strangers in a police station hardly rules out the fact she might have had some sort of turmoil in her life, and it's also important to remember that alcohol was involved, which could certainly change her emotional state.↵

↵↵-- A lot of the interviews in the piece feel irrelevant, particularly the sound clips from ex-boyfriend Keith Norfleet. It’s kind of funny to see Norfleet cleaned up in a button down shirt, rather than in his rapper persona “KaNe Antioch.” I wonder if Keteyian asked Norfleet about this song (NSFW lyrics which make reference to murder and an older man).↵

↵↵UPDATE: Keteyian responded to my question about Norfleet’s rap:↵

↵

↵↵

↵↵It looks like CBS is jumping to some conclusions, but all that aside, they’ve found some interesting inconsistencies in the investigation. It’s tough to render a full opinion on what they’ve found without seeing Part Two of the report, which airs tomorrow on CBS during The Early Show. ↵
