Maybe we just over-valued him in fantasy drafts. After all, it was based on only one year’s worth of stats. In the NFL, one season does not a star make. But for those owners who ended up blowing their first-round pick on Matt Forte, he’s killing them. Unless you traded him, you’re stuck with him and can only pray that he’ll break out of the funk soon.
Matt Forte: Fantasy Owner Killer
↵
Over at ESPN, in their weekly player rankings article, they have this to say about Forte.
↵↵Matt Forte owners are getting impatient. He had nowhere to run Sunday night, and when the Chicago Bears gave it to him twice on the goal line, he fumbled both times. I think the team’s offensive line is doing a pretty good job pass-blocking, but Forte just doesn’t have any holes to run through. I don’t see any way out of the Forte Vortex right now: He’s apt to get too many touches for you not to use him, but he’s probably not worth trading for, either. Unfortunately, unless you’ve got super-elite running back options, you probably just have to hold your nose and keep running him out there

CBS Sports, in article about fantasy trades, comments:
↵↵Fantasy owners of Matt Forte have a problem. It’s a triple whammy for Forte: Not only is he not quite as explosive as last season, but his offensive line run blocks like I diet and Jay Cutler is throwing more than expected. Cutler’s on pace to attempt 550 passes, which would be the second-most in his career and a franchise record.
