Week 7 Add/Drop: Crash Of The Titans

If you’re still not sure whether or not it’s time to abandon the Titans on your fantasy team (other than Chris Johnson), here’s a piece of news that should be the clincher: Vince Young played on Sunday! Aaah!

ADD

Mohamed Massaquoi - What? Recommend a Cleveland WR? That’s unpossible! Well, if you’re looking for WRs at this point in the season you’re having to dig deep. Massaquoi has led the Browns in receiving yards for the past three games. Sure, one of those games was one catch for eighteen yards, but that still counts. Maybe Derek Anderson will heat up. Hey, the Raiders beat the Eagles so anything can happen.

Sammy Stroughter - The Buccaneers need some kind of spark and all-purpose WR Sammy Stroughter just might be it. Three catches for 65 yards last week was his best game of the season and he added a 97 yard kick return touchown as the icing on the cake. It’s a longshot because there’s no telling which terrible QB will be starting for Tampa, but he’s worth a flyer in leagues that score individual return stats.

Jason Snelling - Falcons’ backup RB Jerious Norwood left the game Sunday night in the second quarter with a hip flexor. There’s no word on how serious the injury is, but Norwood has already had two concussions this season so he seems to be having a tough year. If you have Michael Turner, you may want to grab Snelling as his handcuff instead of Norwood.

DROP

Jason Campbell - Campbell looked terrible against the also-terrible Chiefs, then was benched at halftime in favor of Todd Collins (who looked slightly better than terrible). Head Coach Jim Zorn has announced he’ll no longer call the offensive plays for the Redskins, but I don’t think it would matter if Don Coryell was calling the plays with this team. Remember, this was the EASY part of the schedule; Washington’s next six games are against Philadelphia, Atlanta, Denver, Dallas, Philly again and then New Orleans!

Any Titan WR - Holy cow, that game in Foxboro can only be described as a disaster. With the 2009 season already washed out, the Titans have to figure out what the franchise is going to do at the QB position. Kerry Collins obviously isn’t the long term answer and while “Draft Colt McCoy” might sound like a good idea, they need a short-term plan. And there’s still the issue of that Vince Young guy. That guy over there, holding the clipboard, making $$$$$$. That guy. Young saw a few snaps this Sunday, but expect to see more of him as the season progresses. More VY means less fantasy production from the Tennessee WRs.

Michael Bush - No matter which RB gets hyped in Oakland during the preseason -- Michael Bush, Darren McFadden, whomever -- the Raiders always seem to come back to Justin Fargas. Fargas’s 23 carry, 87 yard day is a bad sign for the other Oakland RBs, especially Bush. Somehow, Fargas has racked up 1,862 rushing yards over the past two seasons -- get ready to watch in horror as he leads the Raiders in rushing yards again this season.
