Lane Kiffin Officially Signs Six Year, $14.5 Million Contract

Even though Lane Kiffin was hired by the Tennessee Volunteers, he officially signed a contract with the Vols today.

As agreed to when he was hired in November, Kiffin will earn $2 million in 2009, which includes pay for broadcasting responsibilities and endorsements. His salary will gradually increase each season, topping out $2.75 million for the 2014 season.Kiffin has been something of a firebrand since he arrived at Tennessee, and he hasn’t had anything resembling a program turnaround yet, but his support in Knoxville is extremely high. Turns out Tennessee fans like it when you say naughty things about Florida. This coaching thing is easy!
