Cheer Up: This Isn’t The Year’s Slowest Sports Day

Thanks to the Phillies’ swift handling of the Dodgers in the NLCS, there is relatively little going on in the world of sports Friday night. There are three regular-season NHL games, an Army-Rutgers college football game, and...well, that’s about it. Is this the slowest sports day of the year? It’s certainly near the top of the list, but oh how quickly we forget the tragic lack of events of 6/15.

↵Yes, June 15, 2009 was certainly the slowest sports day of 2009. It was the day after the All-Star Game, and the middle stage of the Tour de France was the only sports happening of significance. I believe that was the last day I went outside. The sun was so bright, and it was really hot out, and...it just wasn’t for me. I immediately retreated back to my computer, where I remain to this day.
