We Need More Moonshot Soccer Goals

↵
↵On Wednesday night, Southern Methodist University freshman Ryan Rosenbaum provided what ended up being the deciding goal in the Mustangs’ 3-2 victory over No. 16 Tulsa. Considering we’re not usually ones to recap collegiate soccer games, he must have done so in noteworthy fashion. ↵↵Does a 95-yard goal count? Yes, by any standard, I believe that it does.↵

↵↵At the time, Southern Methodist was nursing a 2-1 lead in the 63rd minute as Tulsa lost possession on the SMU side of the field. Rosenbaum, a defender who had yet to take a shot on goal through four games in college, cleared the ball with a high, arching kick. The ball took a huge bounce off the turf that bounded over the Tulsa goaltender and into the net.↵

↵↵Altogether, not a terrible way for your first shot to turn out.↵
