Ilya Kovalchuk, leading scoring on the Atlanta Thrashers and tied for the NHL lead with nine goals, took a puck off his foot midway through Saturday night's game against San Jose. He left the game and did not return, and the team is waiting for swelling to go down before taking x-rays on Monday.
