More Add/Drop: Bag A Beanie

Some leagues still have guys on their waiver wire that make you scratch your head. Hakeem Nicks had scored in three straight games going into Sunday, yet he was on many leagues’ waiver wire. He scored again on Sunday – granted it was a fluke – but it still counts.

Fantasy owners are notorious hoarders of running backs, if you have a pulse at RB you’re probably on a fantasy roster somewhere. So the amount of leagues where Beanie Wells is still available seems unreasonably high. Sure, he hadn’t busted out before Sunday, and he’s had fumbling issues (and previous injury issues), but he was a RB2 with a clear path to RB1 since Tim Hightower hasn’t exactly been lighting it up (although he does manage to sneak in TDs along the way). Well, Beanie might finally have gotten there with a 77-yard, 1 TD performance and some very hard running in the process. If Wells can reproduce that game over the next few weeks, he should become the main guy in Arizona.

So get him if you can, as Yahoo! points out:

In Week 8, the Cardinals host a Carolina team which has surrendered 4.2 yards per carry, 91.8 rushing yards per game and four TDs to RBs since Week 3. Further down the road, he has generous matchups at Detroit and home versus St. Louis in Weeks 15 and 16. The Desert Birds are still a pass-first team and their run-blocking is far from excellent, but with 12-15 touches per game, Wells could prove to be a championship difference maker in deeper formats.
