Spartans Prevail in OT: Michigan State 26, Michigan 20
And with Michigan State’s All-American K Brett Swenson looming on the opposing sidelines, in all likelihood that was the end of the game. Though as it turned out, Swenson wouldn’t be necessary, as Larry Caper pulled off a 24-yard touchdown run to give the Spartans the win, and their first consecutive victories over the University of Michigan in 42 years. Big win for the Spartans, heartbreaking defeat for Michigan, who nearly stole the win in the end.
