That’ll Do It: Steelers Win 38-28

Thanks to an all-around great performance from their offense and three solid quarters from their defense, the Steelers moved to 2-2 with the 38-28 win over the Chargers.

Roethlisberger had a stellar night, going 26-33 for 333 yards and two TDs. Just as impressive was Mendenhall who ran the ball 29 times for 165 yards and two TDs.

Considering they never even entered Pittsburgh territory in the first half, the Chargers (2-2) made up for lost time well in the 2nd half. Philip Rivers connected with Antonio Gates twice in the endzone as part of his 254-yard, 3 TD night.

The story from San Diego has to be the running game, or, the complete lackthereof. The team had 16 total rushing yards on the entire evening and LT totaled 15 yards on 7 rushes total. Injury or not, expect the concerns over Tomlinson’s viability to get louder this week.

Keep an eye on Behind The Steel Curtain for Steelers’ postgame thoughts and Bolts From The Blue for the Chargers’ side of things.
