Braylon Edwards Not a Fan of His Fellow “Witnesses”

A player for a winless team, even a more notable one, should probably get used to not being the most adored athlete in his given town. Especially when he shares a market with one of the most famous figures in all of sports.
↵
↵It appears Braylon Edwards has some difficulty accepting that reality. The Browns receiver, he of the frequent dropsies, is being accused of assaulting a club promoter who Edwards said owed all of his success to LeBron James. Presumably, Braylon would prefer that he be the one responsible for conferring secondhand achievement.
↵
↵The club promoter, 28-year-old Edward Givens, summed up his version of the events thusly:
↵↵ ↵

↵↵⇥“After the club closed, I was outside greeting and saying goodbye to↵⇥people. Braylon comes up and started saying things, degrading me. He↵⇥said if it wasn’t for LeBron or the Four Horsemen, I wouldn’t have what↵⇥I have, nor would I be able to get girls. Everyone knows Braylon has a↵⇥problem with LeBron. So I had to speak up for myself. The conversation↵⇥started to escalate. As some of his teammates started to pull him back,↵⇥he punched me. I have a black eye and a cut. I’m not a violent guy.↵⇥↵⇥ ↵⇥

↵⇥↵⇥“As long as I’ve known Braylon, I’ve allowed him and his friends to↵⇥come into our events free of charge. Whatever jealousy he has with↵⇥LeBron, he felt he needed to take it out on me.”↵⇥

↵↵↵If true, Braylon could have more to deal with than a hefty dose of insecurity. But then perhaps a change of location is in order. Say, Oakland. They need receivers. Tom Cable needs a sparring partner and Jack Cust needs someone to feel jealous of him.
