I was always curious how the Cowboys got that whole America’s team thing to stick. They can’t really be the most popular team in the country, right?
New Cowboys Claim to Fame: ‘A Plurality of America’s Team’

Wrong. According to a Harris Poll, the Cowboys are in fact the most popular NFL team in the country by a metric that asked respondents to name “America’s favorite team.” Which seems a little suspect, but whatever.
↵The Steelers, Bears, Colts and Patriots round out the top five. What, no Browns? I was suspicious about this poll’s flaws, but this seals it.
