John Elway Wants You, American Citizen, to Be Ever Vigilant

↵
↵With his Arena League team, the Colorado Crush, not in operation and his empire of used car dealerships being markedly smaller than in his playing days, John Elway has some time on his hands to engage in other business opportunities. For a guy of his stature, certainly there are any number of products he could shill for. He could even join the teeming panels on network pregame shows, if he so chose.↵↵Not Elway, though. Instead he wants to scare the bejesus out of us by reminding us of the omnipresent threat of terrorism.↵

↵↵The former Broncos quarterback is narrating a PSA titled “Recognizing the 8 Signs of Terrorism” for the Denver-based Center for Empowered Learning and Living, which with a name like that you may be surprised to learn is not actually a front organization for a cult.↵

↵↵If you’ve been living in post-9/11 America longer than a few weeks, it’s nothing you haven’t heard in ominous tones before. Beware suspicious packages left on trains or buses. Report odd surveillance activity of public places and large money transactions taking place on the street. Though this particular video ramps up the paranoia a bit by suggesting you should fear pretty much everyone using a cell phone in public. ↵

↵↵Oddly, though, Elway doesn’t note that you should worry about anyone spotted wearing a Raiders jacket. And I thought he was trying to keep us safe.↵
