Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - Brett Favre was greeted by a chorus of boos in his first return to Lambeau Field as a visiting player, but threw four touchdown passes and led the Vikings to a 38-26 victory against the Packers.

Favre, who spent a storied 16-year tenure in Green Bay, completed 17-of-28 passes for 244 yards with his four TD passes going to four different receivers. It’s the 21st time Favre has thrown four or more touchdowns in a game, tying him with Dan Marino for the most such contests in NFL history.

Adrian Peterson rushed for 97 yards and a score on 25 carries for Minnesota (7-1), which was coming off its first loss of the season last week, a 27-17 defeat at Pittsburgh.

Percy Harvin grabbed five passes for 84 yards and a score and returned five kickoffs for 175 yards, leading to excellent field position on a number of occasions for Favre and the offense.

Minnesota is off to its best start since the 2000 season and completed a season sweep of rival Green Bay for the first time since 2005. The Vikings won a Week 4 Monday night matchup at the Metrodome against Green Bay, 30-23, Favre’s first game playing against his old team.

Aaron Rodgers was 26-of-41 for 287 yards, threw three touchdowns and rushed five times for 52 yards in the loss.

Favre’s heir was sacked six times and took a beating from the Vikings’ defense, which set the tone early by limiting the Packers to 47 yards of offense in the first half before wearing down later in the game.

Greg Jennings recorded eight receptions for 88 yards and touchdown in a sobering loss for Green Bay (4-3), which had won its last two games following the initial defeat to Minnesota on October 5.

Spencer Havner was the recipient of two short TD passes from Rodgers.
