The Internet Makes Tracking Aaron Rodgers’ Assault on Ignominy Easy
This year, the Green Bay Packers’ offensive line is practically held together with string cheese and their quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, holds the ball for so long it should grow an umbilical cord. This impotent combination leads to a lot of sacks. But how will anyone know if it is a record number of sacks?↵↵That’s what the Sack Tracker aims to help the interested fan learn. By diagramming each play and splitting it up by game, the interactive time-waster allows for deeper understanding of how bad this problem is. Want to see where Antwan Odom corralled Rodgers for each of his five sacks? Go for it. Want to marvel at how the Packers stopped one team from registering any sacks? Have at it. (Hint: That team may have been the Rams.)↵
↵↵Rodgers has been downed 37 times this year. That’s a lot, to be sure, but the record for one QB is David Carr’s 76 in 2002, and Rodgers is only on pace for 74. And the 1986 Philadelphia Eagles gave up 104; that’s as safe as Rodgers is sore, I’ll guess. But if you want a techno-fied way to watch him make progress towards either dubious mark, this is an ingenious solution.↵
