↵If you were considering buying the Chicago Blackhawks, however, I’m afraid you’ve missed your window. The Hawks gained 26 percent in value as a franchise, and are now worth $258 million. In 2007-08, the Hawks were worth a mere $208 million. Which should serve as a lesson to owners everywhere: When you black out home games and draft bad players, you lose money. If you do the opposite of these things, you gain it. See? It’s easy.
