In last Monday Night’s Pittsburgh-Denver game, Steelers’ WR Hines Ward caught a short pass inside the five yard line, vaulted over Champ Bailey and scored a meaningless TD. That score cost me a win in my most important fantasy league.
Some of you are nodding your head knowingly, thinking that my opponent had Hines or Roethlisberger. Nope. This is an IDP league with decimal scoring and I had Champ Bailey. Because Bailey couldn’t wrap up Hines, I lost by 0.7 points. One missed tackle, 0.7 points.
Fantasy Stat Breakdown
And people wonder why I drink.
On that note, here are some more NFL stats to make you pour a cold one:
- There were a total of 21 quarterbacks drafted in the 2006 and 2007 NFL Drafts. Right now only four of them (Jay Cutler, JaMarcus Russell, Brady Quinn and Vince Young) are NFL starters. Young, Quinn and Russell have all been benched for part of the season.
- Last season Matt Forte had four receiving touchdowns. So far this season he doesn’t have a single one. He does have three times as many fumbles as he had all last season though. Wait, that’s not good either. Man, this guy has been a disappointment.
- Dallas Clark is on a pace to finish with over 1,400 receiving yards.
- WR Andre Johnson has more receiving yards (800) than the top six receivers on the Browns’ roster combined (787)
- The Dolphins have had 10 different guys rush the ball this season. They’ve also had four different guys play quarterback, including RB Ronnie Brown.
- LaDanian Tomlinson has never finished a season in his nine year career with fewer than 1100 rushing yards. This season he’s on a pace to finish with 674 rushing yards.
- With five rushing touchdowns already, Frank Gore is a good bet to break his career high of eight rushing touchdowns set in 2006.
- Dallas QB Tony Romo’s sack rate is increasing for the second year in a row; he’s currently averaging more than two sacks per game.
- This is the third straight game that Knowshon Moreno’s rushing yardage has declined. The streak will probably end this week as it will be hard for him to finish with fewer than the three rushing yards he had on Monday. Especially since he’s facing the Redskins.
- Carolina’s Jake Delhomme has the same number of touchdown passes (5) as Kerry Collins and Shaun Hill --- even though both Collins and Hill were benched two weeks ago.
