The Bengals Are Officially Legit

The 4 p.m. games are still rolling, and we’ve got the biggest game of the week happening later this evening, but unless something crazy happens this evening the biggest NFL story of the week has to be the apparent legitimacy of the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals are one of those teams that seem destined for some sort of reality-based collapse ... until a win like this week’s, when Cincinnati’s defense shut down the Steelers in Pittsburgh and took a huge divisional win home with them. The Bengals are good. They might be the second-best team in the AFC. Anyone who watched “Hard Knocks” earlier this year realizes how completely, totally unlikely this was.
