The Runnin' Rebels are currently 4-7 overall and 2-5 in the tough Mountain West Conference. With one game left, UNLV has a chance to win five games for the second-straight season, following three-consecutive two-win years under Mike Sanford. Apparently that's still not good enough as Sanford is out as head coach according to reports.
Mike Sanford Out As UNLV Football Coach
UNLV President Neal Smatresk and interim athletic director Jerry Koloskie announced Sunday night that football coach Mike Sanford has been fired, effective Dec. 5
With one game left in his fifth season, Sanford has a 15-43 record and hasn't had a winning season since taking over the program before the 2005 season.
UNLV has one game left against San Diego State on November 28th.
