We had a rash of injuries on Sunday to top-line running backs. So who will be okay to go and who will be missing time? We take a look:
Injured RBs: Tuesday Status
↵Michael Turner – We aren’t getting much clarity from the Falcons, who won’t put a timetable on Turner, but it appears likely that he will miss significant time. High ankle sprains can linger and are especially tough on running backs. Jason Snelling is an option and the Falcons hope to get back Jerious Norwood from hip injury that has kept him out a month. Turner should be considered inactive until further notice.
↵Cedric Benson – He hopes to play this week but just in case, the Bengals are grabbing another RB who was a free-agent.
↵Ronnie Brown – Things don’t look quite as good for Dolphin Ronnie Brown. Miami plays on a short-week and Brown not only has an ankle injury, but possibly a more significant foot injury. He should be considered inactive until further notice.
↵Brian Westbrook – A second concussion means the Eagles are going to be extra-careful with Westbrook. It’s possible he might play again this season, but it won’t likely be soon.
↵Julius Jones – A bruised chest led to internal bleeding and the running back had to stay overnight in a hospital. All reports are that he can recover pretty quickly, but he may have lost his job to Justin Forsett anyway.
