Remember Jerry Glanville? You Do? Great? Will You Hire Him?

Jerry Glanville in 1989 was huge, man. Wearin’ black, leaving tickets for Elvis at the will call window, running the Run ‘n Shoot and blitzing like crazy with little regard for sense or caution. If you didn’t know anything about football but really liked to watch things happen quickly, he was the man you wanted to watch coaching football (preferably coaching the other team).

↵He could still be your man at bargain rates if you’re fond of nine-man blitzes and coaches who wear bolo ties. Glanville, 68, resigned today as the head coach at Portland State after going 9-24 in three years. If you have friends who are Notre Dame fans, recommend him for their upcoming head coaching vacancy. Note: bring paper towels if you choose to do this. Exploding heads are messy.
