Injuries Continue To Pile Up For Penguins: Goligoski Out 2-3 Weeks

Penguins' defenseman Alex Goligoski has joined fellow blueliners Brooks Orpik, Kris Letang, and Sergei Gonchar on the Penguins sidelines with a "lower body injury."

Goligoski was off to a great start, tallying 14 points and recording a plus 11 rating in 20 games this year. Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma, from the official Penguins website, comments on Goligoski’s status:

He's getting an MRI today; he's got a lower-body injury. We are going to estimate 2 to 3 weeks on Alex.

For those of you counting, that’s four of the Penguins’ top six defensemen from opening night currently out with injuries, which makes the fact that they are tied with Washington and New Jersey for first in the Eastern Conference all the more impressive.
