The Tennessee Titans are on fire. After starting the season 0-6 they replaced starting QB Kerry Collins with Vince Young and they haven’t looked back. VY has led the team to three straight wins as they’ve averaged 35 points a game in that span. Fantasy owners are starting to believe that this team is for real.
Unfortunately, as The Sundays once sang, “Here’s where the story ends”. The Titans have fueled their rebound by feasting on some bad teams. The three wins came against Jacksonville, San Francisco and Buffalo, teams that are currently a combined 12-15 and have scored an average of 18.7points per game.
For the next three games, Young will host Arizona and face Houston and Indianapolis on the road. The Cardinals are undefeated this season on the road and the Colts are undefeated this season at home. Those three teams are a combined 20-7 and have scored an average of 25.7 points per game.
In the last three games, the Titans faced David Garrard, the newly promoted Alex Smith and a QB in his first game back from injury in Trent Edwards. Combined career starts: 118
For the next three games, the Titans face Matt Schaub, Kurt Warner and Peyton Manning. Combined career starts: 328
The Titans’ next three games are going to be worlds apart from the three they just played. While RB Chris Johnson will probably still have big games, as a team the Titans are likely to suffer. If your fantasy team is counting on Vince Young or Kenny Britt to deliver for you, you might want to consider a Plan B. Owner Bud Adams should have plenty of reasons to flip the bird over the next few weeks.
