While the headline may seem a little self conceded, it really is not meant to be. CBC has created a biopic of its largest talent, Don Cherry, that will air in March of 2010. Cherry, for those who really don’t know him, has his own segment on CBC during their weekly Hockey Night in Canada telecast. Cherry has been on CBC since 1981 and has probably offended most every type of personality in the NHL. Here is what he has to say about his own biopic:
Hockey’s Most Controversial Pundit Has Biopic Made
↵↵“A couple producers said: ‘Jeez, [you] don’t look too good in this,”’ Cherry told The Canadian Press on Tuesday as the CBC unveiled its winter television schedule.
↵“There’s no lying about it. I guess I was a selfish guy. … I only thought of myself, I never thought of the family a lot — that’s the way it comes out [in the film]. It’s tough to see yourself like that, but that’s the way it was.
↵↵While many just have a pure disdain for Cherry, hockey just wouldn’t be the same without this smiling face on our television screens every Saturday night.
