The Battle For Florida Highlights Wednesday Night In NBA

It’s a busy night in the NBA with 24 teams in action. Some of the early action...

Michael Beasley dunked a missed shot by Dwyane Wade with 1.6 seconds remaining, lifting the Miami Heat to a 99-98 victory over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. Wade’s jumper was short, and Beasley soared in the air to take the rebound and seal the victory, which didn’t come without controversy. Dwight Howard and the Magic bench pleaded for a goaltending call to no avail.

Troy Murphy scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, as the Indiana Pacers surged in the second half to earn an 86-73 win over the Los Angeles Clippers at Conseco Fieldhouse. Dahntay Jones netted all 18 of his points in the second half and Luther Head contributed with 14 off the bench for Indiana, which snapped a four-game slide by dominating the Clippers with a 52-30 score differential over the final two quarters.

Gerald Wallace poured in a season-high 31 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, as the Charlotte Bobcats used a strong second half to defeat the Toronto Raptors, 116-81, at Time Warner Cable Arena. Stephen Jackson added 23 points and six assists for the Bobcats, who have won two in a row after a seven-game skid. Jackson and Wallace combined to shoot 18-of-20 from the foul line. Gerald Henderson chipped in 15 points off the bench for Charlotte, which outscored Toronto 64-35 in the second half.

Paul Pierce ended with a game-high 27 points and the Celtics held on for a 113-110 decision over the Philadelphia 76ers. Kevin Garnett added 19 points and Ray Allen 18 in Boston’s third win in four games. Kendrick Perkins pulled down eight rebounds to go with 12 points, while Rajon Rondo logged 10 points and seven assists in the win.
