It’s Official: Kragthorpe Out As Louisville Coach

Unsurprisingly, the swell of rumors surrounding Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe proved to be correct. Kragthorpe’s firing was announced at noon via press conference. Via The Sporting News:Cardinals Coach Steve Kragthorpe is out after a third straight subpar season. Kragthorpe went 4-8 this season and 15-21 overall, failing to capitalize on predecessor Bobby Petrino’s success. Louisville, expected to contend in the Big East in Kragthorpe’s first season before stumbling toward the cellar the last two, has lost three straight games to Rutgers and two out of three to Syracuse. The Cards went 1-6 in conference this season.
