Charlie Weis’ Historic Naval Defeat

People who lost to Navy twice in a row on their home turf: Charlie Weis, Saddam Hussein.

↵This is such a good joke that I’m embittered over not thinking of it on my own, so I suppose I’ll nitpick. If we extend “turf” to also mean “claimed naval territory,” we can also say that Charlie Weis has something in common with the Germans and the Peloponnese. If the Spartans had managed to dominate the Irish on September 19, Weis and the Peloponnese would have had something else in common. History jokes and history jokes!
