This much excitement late at night usually results in a trip to the hospital, pregnancy, or bail being posted. All of this happened in a 15 minute span tonight in college football:
College Football’s Night Ends with a Bang Not a Whimper
↵—Houston hit a 51 yarder rocketed off the foot of their freshman kicker to win against Tulsa, but only after recovering an onside kick after scoring a TD with under a minute left.
↵—Cincy survived a blistering comeback by UConn to win 47-45.
↵—Nebraska intercepted a bizarre heave by Landry Jones to beat Oklahoma 10-3 in Lincoln.
↵
—USC survived a late threat by Arizona State to win 14-9.
↵Again, all of that happened in a rush somewhere between 11:00 and 11:30 p.m., an appropriate capper to a mad whirl of a day in college football. Symptoms should resemble something like vertigo with hallucinations of Lou Holtz saying Notre Dame was the better team on the field against Navy today. (Not actually hallucinations, since Lou Holtz actually did say that today.)
