Will The Eagles Trade Vick?

Michael Vick gave an interview to Bob Costas before last night’s Eagles-Cowboys game, in which Vick expressed his desire to be a starting quarterback in the NFL and that he doesn’t think he can be a “Wildcat guy.” That won’t happen in Philly, obviously, so the interview is tantamount to Vick admitting he’d like to be somewhere else. Vick seems genuinely thankful towards the Eagles, and the interview wasn’t as bratty as it sounds, but it’s pretty clear Vick doesn’t consider his situation ideal.

↵Which lead Bleeding Green Nation’s JasonB to make a pretty salient point: This could have been the Eagles’ plan all along:

↵↵Basically Vick wants to be a starting QB next year... and you know what? I think the Eagles do too. I think the Eagles wanted that all along. Not starting here, but starting for whatever team offers the most in terms of picks this offseason. Watching the state of QB play around the league this past weekend, there has to be 5 or 6 teams that would be seriously interested in having a guy like Mike Vick as their starting QB. Especially considering that the Eagles have absorbed the brunt of the PR hit for bringing him back.

↵↵It sounds a little farfetched until you remember that this is Andy Reid and the Eagles, and while this might be too diabolical for some of the NFL’s lesser lights, the Eagles are savvy enough to pull this off. What? You’re telling me you don’t think this man appears savvy?
