In a way, I can understand Chad Ochocinco changing his name once. It just doesn’t make sense for a character like him to have a boring name like “Chad Johnson.”
Chad Ochocinco Wants To Change His Name ... Again
↵Once is probably enough for me, though. Unfortunately, once is not enough for Chad Johnson/Ochocinco. He announced on his UStream that he now wants to be known as “Chad Hachi Go,” because “Hachi Go” is Japanese for “Eight Five.”
↵
↵A Japanese film crew was in town a couple weeks ago to do a piece on the Bengals for a NFL show over there. They said all NFL fans in Japan know who Chad Ochocinco is and they seriously made a proposal to Chad to change his last name to "Hachi Go".
↵"Some fans of mine that are Japanese said I should change my last name to ‘Hachi Go’."
↵
↵Hell, why stop with the Japanese translation of “Eight Five.” Why not “Chad Huit Cinq” (French)? “Chad Otto Cinque” (Italian)? “Chad Shmoneh Chamesh” (Hebrew)? “Chad Acht Fünf” (German)? Or, my personal favorite, “Chad Eight Five.”
