On Wednesday, Bill Belichick held a “tone setting” meeting at 8:00 a.m. As you may have heard, four players were late because of bad weather that morning -- Randy Moss, Adalius Thomas, Derrick Burgess and Gary Guyton -- and were subsequently sent home for their tardiness. On Thursday, Thomas, who has already had his difference with Belichick earlier this season when he was de-activated for the Titans game, became the first of the four players to speak out, saying he was “dumbfounded.”
Ruh-Roh: Adalius Thomas Speaks, Reminds Patriots This Is Not The Jetsons
↵↵“I mean, I could’ve been in a ditch,” he said. “They really don’t give a damn. Hey, as long as you aren’t in that meeting, they really don’t give a (bleep).”
↵“There’s nothing to apologize about. I wasn’t trying to be late. I don’t know what to say. You leave home, there are people there, cars sitting in the road, you’re sitting there, what are you gonna do? It’s not the Jetsons. I can’t jump up and fly. What am I supposed to do?”
↵↵When asked if this discipline would provide some kind of motivation, Thomas responded, “Motivation is for kindergartners. I’m not a kindergartner. Sending somebody home, that’s like, ‘You’re expelled until you come back and make good grades.’ Get that (bleep) out of here. It’s ridiculous.”
↵Hope ya had fun in New England, Adalius: “You’rrrrrre firrred!“
