Things have been a little uncertain in New England recently, what with the coach sending home four players for being late this week and the biting reaction by Adalius Thomas. Not to mention they lost last week in very uncharacteristic fashion, allowing a late FG and then Tom Brady threw an interception to seal their fate. Suddenly, the Patriots are starting to resemble most NFL teams and not the machine that gobbled up opponents through most of this decade.
Tom Brady’s Status In Doubt?
↵Now, they’re facing another problem. Tom Brady is beat up. By now, most NFL fans are used to the notoriously tight-lipped Patriots organization and their proclivity for giving out zero information about injuries. So you never really know what’s going with their injured players, but Brady has been missing practice this week and the list of his injuries is getting longer. From the Boston Herald:
↵↵Brady missed his second consecutive practice yesterday, as the team officially added “rib” to his lengthening list of injuries. Suddenly, Brady’s status is something to look for as his team prepares for Sunday’s game against the Panthers.
↵Brady also has a bruised right ring finger that limited him against the Dolphins, along with his ever-present (and faux) right shoulder issue.
↵↵The Patriots could just be playing it safe with Brady by holding him out of practices and saving him for the game. Still, Brady is dealing with injuries and this could affect his performance, right in the middle of the fantasy playoffs. We’ll keep an eye on this one.
