In the big grudge match of the evening Frank Mir proved a major point. Cheick Kongo and Frank Mir had talked a lot of trash coming into the evening and the two refused to touch gloves during the fighter instructions.

It was only a matter of seconds before Mir dropped Kongo with an overhand left and quickly grabbed Kongo’s neck with a guillotine choke. Kongo refused to tap out and instead went to sleep in the choke.
Following the impressive display Mir wished Brock Lesnar a speedy recovery, so that he can prove a point and hurt him in the octagon.
