As college football winds down, it’s time for basketball to take center stage. The early afternoon hours on the East Coast feature plenty of highlights.
Saturday College Basketball Early Shift: Six Top 25 Teams In Action
- Fourth-ranked Kentucky visits Indiana, in what will probably be John Wall's only trip to Bloomington. SB Nation's Kentucky blog, A Sea of Blue, and Indiana site, The Crimson Quarry, both have excellent previews of this one.
- No. 13 Ohio State travels to Indianapolis to take on one of Thad Matta's former employers, 22nd-ranked Butler. The Bulldogs are desperate for a win after some struggles on the road, and they'll face a Buckeye team who will be playing their first game without Mr. Everything Evan Turner.
- Top-ranked Kansas plays La Salle -- a team looking for a marquee win -- in the Jayhawks' second home, Kansas City's Sprint Center. You can visit SB Nation's Kansas blog, Rock Chalk Talk, for a full preview.
- Two top 20 teams clash in the first game of the Wooden Classic in Anaheim, where no. 15 Georgetown is looking for their second win over a ranked opponent in a week against 17th-ranked Washington, a team who needs a big win heading into the Pac 10 season. Casual Hoya, SB Nation's Georgetown blog, and our Washington site, UW Dawg Pound, both have previews of this one.
