Pro Football Talk reports that Panthers coach John Fox enters Week 14 with his job in jeopardy:
John Fox Reportedly On The Fair And Balanced Hot Seat
↵↵Panthers coach John Fox widely is believed to be on the hot seat, given the proximity of Bill Cowher to Charlotte and the open desire of Jerry Richardson to emulate the family that previously employed Cowher in Pittsburgh.
↵↵Kind of a shame for Fox, who has taken a relatively small-market team and posted a 68-56 record over the past eight years. He’s taken them to the playoffs three times. At times under his watch the team has been great, and he’s never finished with a worse record than 7-9. Regardless, the Panthers are 5-7 this year and hold the most remote of playoff chances. As the old cliche goes, it’s all up to the coach since he calls the plays, takes the snaps, runs the ball, catches the ball, is the sole determinant of revenue, et cetera.
↵The unsettling bit of this story is that Cowher can put NFL coaches on the hot seat simply by being within a few hundred miles of them. Other fun facts about Bill Cowher: he can summon a pack of Nordic wolves when in distress, he can cast a spell that makes him invisible for up to 60 seconds, and he carries a battle axe that gives him +3 charisma.
